XL reaches the HIGHEST PEAK - Mt. Everest

XLNC(XLri Nature Club) has planned a trek to the Everest base camp for a group 20 students.

XLRI Leadership Expedition (XLE)

The Concept
The XLRI Leadership Expedition involves taking students to a remote location where they are exposed to hardships and adverse conditions through challenging adventure activities. The Expedition necessarily involves the students doing groundwork for a relevant social / environmental cause with the help of some reputed organization working in that field. This work is done pre-expedition and also during the expedition. The place where the expedition goes and the mission of the expedition will be unique every year. For example XLE2006 will go to Mount Everest Base Camp with the mission of spreading AIDS awareness. XLE2007 could be a scuba diving expedition to Andaman & Nicobar with the mission of conserving marine eco systems.

The Objective
The objective of the XLRI Leadership Expedition is to aid in developing leadership traits amongst the participants. The Expedition takes up Leadership aimed at the Individual level as well as at the society. At the individual level, the expedition aims to develop the following

Strength of character (by exposing the participants to extreme hardships)
Ability of the individual to plan and execute under uncertain environment, taking decisions which affect the team (Through rotational leadership and experience sharing)
Motivate others at during crisis (by linking individual success to the team’s success)
The other aspect of Leadership is to influence the society. In order to address this, all XLRI Leadership Expedition will take up a cause where students of XLRI will contribute towards a relevant social/ environmental issue
