XL Alumni Meet in Delhi - 17th May

Hello all,

finally returned last night, was able to download and upload the pics of the 17th evening (and early morning;0)

So thanks to all - to all those who could make it, inspite of the special effects provided by the delhi weather...

....and to the enthu team of the interning students' of 09 batch, who planned, slogged and rolled-out the evening for all... Kudos to them!!

(as you will appreciate, it is very difficult to click photographs, when one has to hold a glass full of liquid in one hand ;-)...

I also missed out some of the pics like the dance-floor in action, director's 3-minute speech inviting all alumni to the 5th Annual Alumni Homecoming '08 (November 15-16, 2008), with which we plan to kick-off the 60th Year of XLRI, etc...

in any case, these pics, will give a one a feel of the evening (and help create the sense of regret for those who missed the meet ;0))

Due to either my lack of knowledge - or because the venue is still being finalised - I have not been able to mention the venue in this mail (though this is only "Version1.1" - next spam/update will contain more info )

Summer Interns and Summer Meets

The Summer Interns have landed in most metros and the Annual Alumni highlight - the Summer Meets are in the planning stages.

The Hyderabad and Mumbai teams have already had a meet with alumni who help organise the meet.

Here are some tentative dates for the meets, in case you need to plan your travel schedules around them.

Dubai: Had a meet on April 16th in honor of Mad Shuks being in town and a send off for Sanjay.

Bombay: sometime in May
Calcutta: May 31st - tentative
Delhi: May 17th - tentative
Hyderabad: 10th May
Madras: 23rd-24th May

Eva (Mody) Nambiar 77PMIR - RIP

Ms.Eva Nambiar, PMIR 1977, wife of Gopi Nambiar(Seagrams, ex-Pepsi) passed away on the 13th of August 2007, after a struggle with cancer since the last few years. She was with Personnel Search Services in Delhi.

Mr. P. C. Mehra of the Delhi Alumni chapter writes "I had an opportunity to meet her during one of the Alumni Meets and she came across a warm human being, full of energy and enthusiasm. On her passing away we have lost an involved alumnus.

May her soul RIP."

Delhi Meet Invite

Dear all,

We hereby invite you to the XLRI-Delhi Alumni meet which is scheduled for the 26th May. The venue for the same is Asiad Towers, Khelgaon, New Delhi.

Please do grace us with your presence and help us try and recreate something from the yester years (we will try to do that). Please do bring your families we will keep them entertained and let them also have a flavor of XL (i.e. if they are not from the XL family itself which I guess is the guess in many occasions).

As another attraction we would be having Prof. Sharad Sarin from Xl for the meet, and also some of the ex-XL faculty who are based out of NCR would also join us for the meet.

We (Xlers of batch 06-08 and members of the organizing committee for the Delhi alumni meet 2007) would like to communicate to the alumni that the date for the Delhi alumni meet 2007 has been finalized for the 26th of May,2007. The venue for the same is the
Asiad Towers, KhelGaon, New Delhi.
We would request you all to plan your dates accordingly. Hope to see
you all on the D-day and re-live some of your old memories. Also any queries or any suggestions that you would have, we would love

A fun picnic at Lodi Gardens!

Thanks to all of you who made it and made an XL alumni happen (outside the summer one!)....missed some of you who in turn missed pots of yummy food, dog and the bone, dumb charades, sunny chats, cricket with the kids and lots and lots of fun......it was amazing to see everyone connecting with everyone and for a change not needing to scream at the top of their voices...lots of warm smiles...and just the feeling of being chilled out on a sunny afternoon:)

Max turnout was from the batch of '93...so a thums up to them! (and this is inspite of them being lost finding their way;)

A special thanks to the batch of '69..we had two from among them with one more almost came:) Hari has volunteered a rooftop get-together on 23rd Jan on popular request ...so those of you who were engaged this time don't miss the next one!

Lets all jump into a picnic lunch to celebrate the new season and get Delhi rocking!

16th December 12 noon, on the lush green lawns of Lodhi gardens get out your cowboy hats and your gypsy skirts and lets get down to lotsa groovy fun!

Couples get your kiddos as tons of games are on the cards.....

Ummmmm and did we forget the food...No way! Time to test our culinary skills too....potluck with 2 extras
so we can look forward to loads of variety (and you don't get to taste slurp!! your own kitchen!!!)

So lets all spread the word around and add some XL colour to the winter.

Here's to the XL spirit! ( and those who can't join in with such advance notice MUST get their time management re-tuned).
